RoleMaster Character Sheet is a tool to create and maintain characters in Rolemaster, at the moment the sheet is written to follow my house rules, but will be rewritten for generic rules later. I have primarely focused on getting it to work for the characters that allready are in the system, and later extend it to allow for new features. To use the sheet you need a office tool that can read Open Document Spreadsheet Templates, the complete characters can be stored in any spreadsheet format of your choise. (I prefere Open Document Spreadsheet). If it doesn't work in your current office program, I recomend you to download and install OpenOffice.org, or any other office tool supporting Open Document Format.

I have also started to look at more advanced options in Open Document Spreadsheet, aswell as connecting it to databases. The choise of using databases is for more easily working with the data structures, such as tables for skills, spells, damage, and so on. This will be implemented in future versions of the program. An independent development for a live program (independent from the OpenDocument spreadsheet) is found here.

House Rules

Here will come a list of house rules put into the program.

Latest Version

No working BETA yet, but is approaching. There is still some issues to be resolved before current development version 0.5PRE will be finalized into a BETA. Look at the early development version for a test of what might be. Note that there have been a serious redesign since that version.

After a BETA have been released, I will breanch the program in two, one to be a clean spreadsheet, and one to utilize database lookups. The database version is mainly to ease development and addition of new data.

Spreadsheet Version

Been little progress lately, will probably stop entering basic data, just keep the existing data, and at times of release import data from the database version. I will continue to improve the sheets themselves, as there are a couple of bugs in them, and some calculations are out. I am missing documentation in the code as from where the rules are collected, and need to fix that. I need to keep a track of rules and house rules in the sheet and issue it as a note to follow the releases.

Database Version

There is a good progress of importing information into the databases. At the moment adding description of skills and races, as well as documenting the sources of the various races.

I have also an idea of a database for retrieving information regarding lore skills, so that we can have a collected database of all known knowledge. It is best done as a database as it needs to be replicable so it can document what each character knows, what times, places and persons are affected by the information (such as history of a place), and the difficulty level of the information. This can also allow for relation between information, such that some information about a place can relate to another place as well (the war between two kingdoms will be equally important for both places, but can also be mentioned in the history of an allied kingdom with a different difficulty level).
