At the moment, this is just a link collection, but as I get around it, I will describe how to do it. Do what? Turn your Nokia N95 (or similar cell phone) into an NMEA transmitting device, either via its data cable or via Bluetooth. I'll go for Bluetooth first.

Bluetooth

ExtGPS

USB Serial

It should be possible to transmit NMEA data over USB.

RS-232

The N95 doesn't have RS-232 capabilities, but with a home-made mini-USB to RS-232 cable, RS-232 output should be possible.

WLAN

Maybe I'll make a transmitter for my NMEA over Ethernet project. Since this is a two way protocol, I might also decide to make a receiver for this, that navigation/map/routing software can subscribe to.
