I live in Guarapari, a city in the Brazilian state of Espirito Santo, about one hour south of Vitoria, the state capitol. There are several bus connections between Vitoria and Guarapari, and to Cachoeiro. Cachoeiro have bus connections to Rio de Janeiro and Bela Horizonte, among many other destinations, the same applies for Vitoria. Vitoria have also an airport with several domestic destinations, and a railway connection to Bela Horizonte.

Directions
Brazilian highway BR-101 passes just outside the city of Guarapari, and city buses use the crossroad with BR-101 and the entrance road to the city as an end stop for a few city routes. The new Rodovia do Sol (ES-060) passes through the city, with a ring road passing outside the city for passing quickly. The ring road goes from a seamless crossing north of the populated area of the town, to a point just south of Meaipe, while the Rodovia itself passes through the citadels (barrios) of Setiba, Santa Monica, Praia do Morro, Moquiçaba, Centro, Novo Guarapari and Meaipe.
Guarapari also have an airport, but this is limited to private traffic, possible Brazilian air-taxi companies can land here, but this is up to the air-taxis and the airport authority. There are no commercial traffic to this airport.
The barrio Centro (downtown) is located on the south side of Guarapari Channel, which is something between a river and a bay, and only one bridge connect Centro with the barrios north of the Channel. Centro is the oldest part of town, before the bridge was opened (I would guess in the 50's), the barrios north of the river was a few villages and agricultural areas. A little further south is a suburb named Novo Guarapari (New Guarapari) and just south of that is Meaipe, a beach village, and Samarco Ore Facilities and Ponta de Ubu Ore Terminal.
In Centro, close to Praia de Castanerha lies a small hill, a road leading up to the hill is found between Bradesco bank and the restaurant Benfica. I live in this area.
There are several banks, restaurants, and good shopping opportunities in Guarapari, and the beaches are very good. The temperature is good year round, not too cold in winter, and not too hot in the summer. It is generally dry, though it can fall heavy rain, usually accompanied with thunder. It is rarely hard winds in the area, and wind accompanied with rain is extremely rare.
I recommend Norwegians visiting Guarapari, or working in the vicinity of Guarapari to contact me, as I have little contact with people from my country of origin. You do not have to be Norwegian to contact me, anybody working in the area feeling they want to talk to a friendly face in English can also contact me.
